5 Ways To Break Out of Your Workout Rut

Rynnie Cotter

Have you been feeling like working out is a chore recently? Or maybe you are past that point and you just haven’t been working out at all. Hey, no judgment from us. You are not alone. We all experience burnout or frustration with our workouts at some point in our lives. Here at Sworkit, it is our goal to get you back to feeling healthy and happy with your workout experience. Here are a five ways to help you break out of your workout rut.

Plan Your Day

Success does not just happen. You have to plan to win. However, the good news is that planning a workout session doesn’t have to be hard, especially if you don’t even have to leave your home. You can complete a home workout just in the time it would take you to go to the gym! As a result, you’ll save on gas, save on time, and accomplish your goals all at once. Ultimately, consistency is the key. Set aside five minutes or 30 minutes (seriously, whatever works for you) to get your workout done.  Bam! You are already breaking out of your rut.

Try Something New

Maybe you struggle to work out because your goals aren’t being met. Guess what? You are allowed to choose a different kind of exercise. We all have different body types and different goals. As a result, the exercises that work for your friend might not work for you. If cardio is a drag, try doing a stretch routine a few times a week instead. If your yoga routine isn’t challenging you, tap to find a strength workout and see how it works out for you. You can adjust your workouts based on your goals.

Find a Buddy

Human nature tends to find more motivation in teamwork than in going solo. A workout buddy might be just the thing you need to get you back on track. Plus, you get to help someone else out as well. Win-win!  If you are an employer, you can take the initiative to bring fitness to your workplace and watch your employees thrive alongside you. Or, you gift a partner or friend with our app full of guided workouts, so you can get healthy together. Working out always works better with a buddy.

Join a Community To Get Out of Your Workout Rut

Speaking of teamwork, it really helps to have a community of people with similar goals surrounding you and cheering you on. You need a place where you can ask questions and get encouragement.
